What listeners learn
We Bet You're Serving White Wine Too Cold If You Grab It Straight From The FridgeEvery episode of The Wine Pair Podcast is built around curiosity, transparency, and a genuine love of discovery. Joe and Carmela blind taste two to three wines they’ve personally selected and purchased, which means their reviews are completely independent and unfiltered. The result is wine education listeners can trust: real opinions, honest reactions, and recommendations based on what’s in the glass, not on a press release or free sample.
Listeners learn how to:
- Understand wine styles, grapes, and regions through clear, easy explanations that make sense whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned oenophile.
- Explore affordable wines that deliver great quality without big prices, including bottles from lesser-known producers and regions.
- Discover off-the-beaten-path varietals such as Trousseau, Ribolla Gialla, Primitivo, Bonarada, Grüner Veltliner, and Cinsault, alongside familiar favorites like Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, and Vinho Verde.
- Decode confusing wine terms and labels so buying a bottle or ordering at a restaurant feels less like a gamble and more like an informed choice.
- Build confidence in their own palate by hearing how two real people describe and rate wine in plain, honest language.
Every episode is designed to help listeners feel a little smarter about wine, laugh along the way, and walk away knowing exactly which bottles are worth buying.
Connection with the audience
Listeners regularly email, message, and share tasting experiences with Joe and Carmela, who respond personally and often feature audience stories and ideas on the show. Some listeners, like “Listener Timmy,” have even been featured in episodes and blog posts. The show’s approachable tone and responsiveness have built a loyal community that feels more like friends around a table than followers behind a screen. Frank Racioppi, Ear Worthy

Like chatting about wine with fun friends
There are a LOT of wine podcasts out there. And I find most of them lean toward trying to be serious. Sometimes that is useful. But sometimes you just want a friend to recommend a good wine to you. That is where the Wine Pair Podcast comes in. Listening to Joe and Carmela talk about wines is relaxing and fun. But don’t think that means they aren’t also incredibly informative and helpful. They definitely dive deep into the information about the wines they share. They just do it in a fun, conversational way that makes it even easier to take the information in. They also keep the wines they try to $25 and under, making them more accessible than some of the more serious wine podcasts. I’ve enjoyed both podcasts about favorite wine varietals that help me confirm why I love them already, and ones about wines I haven’t tried and have been meaning to. If you want to sit down with some fun (and sometimes irreverent and chatty! 😆) friends and hear about the wines they’ve been drinking, this is the podcast for you!
Listener Since May 22
I like this wine podcast. Great information and they don’t take themselves too seriously. It’s fun! If you get the monthly newsletter you can buy what they plan to review and drink along. This is helpful for me because I didn’t know if we had similar tastes.
A Fun Discovery!
I love the magic of these two. They keep is simple and fun! I always appreciate their Wine in the News bits as well. A great podcast for the lighthearted wine lover…🙂🍷
My Go-To Wine Podcast 🍷
The Wine Pair is hands down my favorite wine podcast. The husband and wife energy is so fun and chaotic in the best way, and you end up learning a ton without ever feeling like you’re in class. They’re tasting wines real people actually drink, not just unicorn bottles, while also spotlighting bottles and regions that deserve more attention. As someone with WSET training, I can say this one is legit and so entertaining. 10/10 would pour and press play!
Best Wine Podcast Ever
If you want to laugh, be entertained, and come away with new knowledge to share with friends and love ones - you must listen to this podcast! Such an enjoyable and informative listen. Once you start, you will be hooked!
The best collection of QPR wines
If you’re looking to explore wine and don’t have the budget of a first world military, tune in. They truly have one of the best short form podcast on wine I have listened to. The focus on QPR was what drew me in and the banter is what keeps me listening.
Entertaining and informative
If you’re looking to learn more about wine and to be entertained, this is a great podcast to add to your regular listening! Learning about wines under $25 a bottle is pure magic and the hosts are witty and welcoming in their style! Raising a glass to the Wine Pair!
Great Listen
Enjoy listening to this podcast. It is the right blend of good information and light banter. The tasting notes are inline with my own so always look forward to the next episode.
Great commentary, Structure but…
I don’t love how the husband doesn’t let his wife have her own opinion without discouraging her. It’s distracting how much he tries to influence her opinion and her rating.
