English sparkling wine is no longer a punchline. This vintage Henners is made from the classic Champagne grapes, grown in similar soils, and produced using the same traditional method as Champagne. With climate change, believe it or not, the temperature in Southern England is the same as Champagne 50 years ago.
And yes, the result is good enough that the comparison with Champagne doesn’t sound nearly as ridiculous as it used to.
