Red wine blends don’t have to be a mystery! Unfortunately, many times when going to a wine shop or the wine section of a grocery store, you are confronted by a wall of wines simply called “red blend” which is not helpful at all in determining if it is a wine you are going to like. We compare it to wines simply being labeled “red wine.” What does that mean?!?

In this minisode, we explain the two classic red blend styles - the Bordeaux style red blend, and the GSM style red blend - both of which originated in France, and which dominate what most red blends are made from today.

Figuring out which is which and how you can determine what your red blend is based on is crucial to enjoying the wine - after all, if you don’t know what grapes are in a wine, how can you know if you will like it or not?
