Italian Wine Adventure #10 Fiano!

Fiano is a wine from the southern Italian region of Campania that deserves a look. If you like bigger bodied white wines, this could be a new favorite for you!

Campania is the region of Italy above the “toe” of the boot, and is famous for the cities of Naples and Pompei, Mount Vesuvius, Capri, and the Amalfi Coast. It is also famous for some of our favorite foods like pizza and favorite drinks like limoncello.

But this little known wine (at least little known outside of Italy) is a rising star - that almost went extinct not so long ago! While Fiano is a hearty wine that does well in hot weather, it is also a grape that does not produce a lot of berries or juice, and so you have to be a very brave and dedicated winemaker to tackle this wine!

Join us on our latest Italian Wine Adventure to learn more about Fiano, and see how we reviewed these three wines!

Wines reviewed in this episode: 2020 Claudio Quarta Cantina Sanpaolo Fiano di Avellino, 2019 La Capranera Paestum Fiano, 2020 Terredora di Paolo Fiano di Avellino.
