"For a lighthearted, educational take on making wine accessible and fun for everyone, check out The Wine Pair Podcast, regularly featured among the top 200 U.S. food podcasts on Apple.

Co-host Joe Mele shared a few thoughts that are not the "same old, same old," including the following. Mele noted Indian food is notoriously difficult to pair with wine because there are so many different types of spices that can be used, varying from sweet to savory. Great options are light, fruity and acidic wines that can hold up to the spice and creamy sauces like curries, and good choices are a dry or off-dry riesling, Torrontés (an underrated white from Argentina), Txakoli and sparkling cava from Spain.

Fried foods, like fried chicken, fish and chips and salty french fries and potato chips, are perfectly paired with brut sparkling wines, either blanc or rosé. He notes some fun combinations, under-the-radar but should be on everyone’s list, are Franciacorta from Italy, Crémant from France and Luxembourg, and a personal favorite of his, affordable and delicious Gruet from New Mexico."
